A 100x hat is pure fur (beaver is standard) with nothing added. Blends are a combination of beaver and other furs.

The weight of the hat “bodies” can vary. A dress weight is lighter and typically used for for Fedoras. Western Weight is a thicker body used for western style hats.

​We use actual vintage hat blocks and newly made band blocks to custom fit each hat made. Each block is milled from premium grade poplar and sized to industry standards. Block sizes range from 6 1/2 to 8 1/4. We also custom duplicate blocks. Hat bodies must be pressed and shaped around a wooden form that is called a hat "band" block. We keep our custom original hat "band" blocks to ensure a perfect fit every time.
